A: After surviving on Pro Plus, Red Bull and 2 hours sleep most nights you might still be considering if becoming a Producer is right for you. As much as your body might be telling you the last month will take a good 11months to recover from, what you’ve learnt whilst producing at Edinburgh Fringe will be hugely valuable. It’s like that line you read in a job description “The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post”. What this means is the buck ends with the Producer so you have to always be prepared to “muck in” no matter what scale you’re producing at.

If your production has been a runaway success you might want to see what other Fringe venues might be available to continue that successful run. The Hope Mill Theatre is currently open for submissions and Theatre 503 has a really friendly team you can always contact if you want to send your script in.
Here at Stage One we have recently started selling tickets for our 1 day Regional Workshop on the 14th November. It will be held at the Birmingham Hippodrome and is promised to be an excellent introduction into producing for only £50. I could be classed as bias but I think that’s a really great deal for the speakers, resources and networking the day offers. It’s also the opening night for Sunset Boulevard that night, so we’ve managed to reserve some tickets for £15 for any delegates wishing to stay on and watch the show.
