COMMERCIAL TOURING WORKSHOP
The commercial theatre sector is not just in London and it is important that we are reaching the rest of the UK with our programmes. There are specific areas of training needed to apply to the theatre sector outside of the capital and through our touring workshops we hope to inspire producers to expand their practice across the country.
Our latest Commercial Touring Workshop took place at Curve Theatre, Leicester on Thursday 7th March 2024.
We used Come from Away as a case study for the workshop, taking an in-depth look into all you need to know about commercial tours and co-productions.
Sheffield Theatres hosted our first workshop of this kind in 2022.
This workshop is suitable to you if you are developing a commercial tour and/or do not want to exclusively produce in the West End. This workshop offers you insight into:
- The regional theatre landscape
- Commercial tours
- The subsidised and commercial sector relationship
- Co-productions with regional theatres
How to aTTEND
The Commercial Touring workshop is a ticketed event. Tickets usually go on sale around a month before the workshop, and range from around £60-£100 depending on ticket type. Lunch and refreshments are included, as well as the option to see a show at the host venue.
