It was announced this week that Eleanor Lloyd is the new president of Society of London Theatre as Kenny Wax steps down after his three year tenure. Kenny will now be vice-president alongside Eleanor for the next three years.

We hope you recognise these names as they both kindly hosted seminars as part of our online workshop programme called Zoom in On earlier this year. They are dedicated Stage One trustees and have played a huge part in the development of the charity.

More about Eleanor Lloyd

Eleanor Lloyd is an Olivier award-winning independent theatre producer and general manager. Last month, her production of Emilia at the Vaudeville Theatre won three Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play, Best Costume Design and Best Sound Design. She is also the producer of Olivier nominated site-specific production, Witness for the Prosecution at London County Hall. Eleanor also sits on the Board of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT), Oxford Playhouse and Theatre503.

Connection with Stage One

Eleanor was awarded a Stage One Producer’s Bursary in 2005 and has since been actively involved in all our programmes either as a participant or a mentor. Following her bursary, Eleanor applied for and successfully received a Start Up Fund for Butley in 2011.

The success of Eleanor’s career grew and now she supports Stage One by being a bursary mentor herself. She offers guidance and professional opinion to new bursary winners as they approach their first commercial productions. Eleanor has been a Stage One trustee since 2017 and was instrumental in our development of the Bridge the Gap programme, New York Exchange and Small Scale Commercial Investment which we were all launched in the last few years.
