National Placements

Stage One launched the regional producer placement scheme in 2013 in order to increase communication and shared knowledge across the subsidised and commercial sectors. The placement not only benefits the producer but also the host theatre/organisation as they have further opportunity to produce in-house.

How does it work?

Each year, Stage One partners with 4 subsidised houses across the UK to recruit, train and support 4 talented producers through a year-long fully funded placement scheme. Emerging producers will have the opportunity to apply for a placement at one or all venues and following successful shortlist from Stage One will have the opportunity to interview with the theatre’s producing team. The producer will have the opportunity to assist in producing high quality, potentially commercial work learn of the challenges and opportunity of working in a theatre venue.

"Stage One has done legendary work over the years, providing brilliant opportunities for theatre producers to train and develop across their courses and placements.
We’re delighted to be working with them to offer a Trainee Producer placement at Nottingham Playhouse, and we look forward to welcoming the successful candidate to Nottingham, where they will help us deliver our broad range of produced shows in 2023-24.”
