Small Scale Commercial Investment

This schemes aims to support a wider range of productions through investment and to help producers create more commercially viable work and increase their pool of investors. The decision whether to invest in a production is made by a committee made up of active producers, at their discretion the guidelines may be varied depending on the individual circumstances of any production.

Key Points:

  • The maximum investment available is £20,000 and capped at 30% of the capitalisation
  • Your application must be received at least 4 weeks before your first rehearsal
  • We are not able to invest in Edinburgh Fringe Shows or shows performing internationally
  • In the event that an offer to invest is made, the Producer must show that they have the balance of the capital in hand.

Update 2021: Stage One have temporarily increased the cap on investment in light of the loss work work on theatre stages due to the closures caused by COVID-19. The purpose of the increased investment is to solidify Stage One’s aims to support new work and to encourage established producers to work with the next generation.
